17 May 2009: Rotary Clubs of St Albans Charity Cycle Ride

Pat Kennedy writes:  Despite showers and torrential rain that poured down for the earlier part of the ride, to be faced by a 20 miles-per-hour headwind (it felt like that) on the return journey, you will be pleased to learn that I completed the 40 mile course in 6hrs 15mins. I crossed the line while the organisers were removing the finishing line gantry! I believe a couple more stragglers finished somewhere behind me.  The above picture was taken about seven miles from the finish, by my daughter Anna Baker
